I finally decided to update my site to better reflect what I do!

I've spent the last 7 years of my professional life working with Microsoft SharePoint, trying to learn as much as possible by attending conferences like the old Microsoft SharePoint Conference, the Microsoft Ignite conference, (formerly known as Tech Ed), the SPTechCon conference, SharePoint Saturday, and of course the local Atlanta SharePoint User Group meetings, as well as listening to weekly podcasts by SharePoint MVPs like Todd Klindt's SharePoint podcast (with Shane Young of Bold Zebras) and Laura Rogers Power Hour. I'm often asked to make my SharePoint sites look like anything but a SharePoint site, so I thought it would be interesting to make my personal site look just like a SharePoint site - demonstrating some of my knowledge and experience with SharePoint branding.

Note that despite the appearance, this is not actually a SharePoint site running on a SharePoint server. Those familiar with SharePoint branding will see that I've created html and css to mimic the appearance of a SharePoint Team site. If you are one of the branding experts that I've learned so much from (Cathy Dew, Randy Drisgill, John Ross, and Heather Solomon), you'll quickly see that I've not perfectly matched all of my styling with the selectors on a "real" SharePoint page, but that was not my objective! Yes, I could have created a more attractive page, or I could have paid for some Azure VM space and created a small SharePoint farm, but that would be pretty expensive. If you know SharePoint, this is just a small demonstration of some of my SharePoint skills.

And.....just a quick shout-out to my KIP instructor, Steve Hiraoka, on the chance that he ever does a search on his name and stumbles across this site - I did all of this in notepad, just to prove to myself that I could. Yes, we really did learn from you - Thank you!
